Scholarship Applications

The Bristol Knights of Columbus Council 379 is now accepting Catholic School Scholarship and College Book Award applications for the 2011-2012 school year.

Applicant must be a member in good standing with Bristol Council #379 Knights of Columbus or the wife, child, or grandchild of a member in good standing of Bristol Council #379 Knights of Columbus or the widow, child, or grandchild of a deceased member of Bristol Council #379 Knights of Columbus who was in good standing at the time of his death.

Winners are selected on the basis of academic record, personal qualifications, financial need, and other credentials submitted by or on behalf of each applicant.

OLMC Students Represent Rhode Island in Poster Contest

Four students from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School placed first in the 2010 Substance Abuse Poster Contest. The students went on to represent Rhode Island at the International Competition. The first place winners received citations from the the Bristol Town Council.

The Bristol Knights of Columbus Council 379 collaborated with the Bristol Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition in organizing the First Annual Substance Abuse Poster Contest.

Twenty-four students from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School participated in the contest. First, second, and third place winners were awarded to twelve students. The winners, listed below, will represent Rhode Island at the International level.

First, Second, and Third place winners received medals. Additionally, First Place and Second place winners were awarded $50.00 and $25.00 Savings Bonds respectively from Bristol Substance Abuse Coalition.

Knights of Columbus to Promote Volunteerism in 9/11 Tribute Ad

The Knights of Columbus, one of the nation’s most active volunteer service organizations – and the world’s largest lay Catholic organization – will air a unique 60-second 9/11 tribute ad during NBC-TV’s broadcast of the inaugural game of the NFL’s 2009 season on Thursday night, Sept. 10.

The spot directs viewers to www.servicetogether.org – a new Knights of Columbus Web site with resources for volunteers and volunteer organizations.
